Dubai, UAE — Emirates and Dubai Chambers have signed a new agreement designed to help Dubai-based small and medium-sized enterprises expand into international markets. The partnership combines logistics, cargo, express delivery, business travel benefits and practical support for companies looking beyond the UAE.
The memorandum of understanding brings together the global network of Emirates with the business community represented by Dubai Chambers. For smaller companies, that could remove some of the friction that often appears. This happens once a business moves from serving local customers to handling overseas orders, international meetings and cross-border supply chains.
Dubai SMEs Get More Support for International Expansion
The new partnership is focused on giving Dubai Chamber of Commerce members better access to international markets. Emirates’ aviation and logistics network will provide this. SMEs and startups will be able to benefit from services linked to Emirates SkyCargo, Emirates Courier Express and Emirates Business Rewards.
For smaller businesses, international expansion can quickly become complicated. However, shipping costs, customs requirements, delivery timelines and access to reliable logistics partners can all slow growth. The agreement is intended to make some of those challenges easier to manage. Companies get access to established infrastructure rather than having to build international logistics capabilities from scratch.
Emirates SkyCargo Adds Global Freight Access
Emirates SkyCargo will play a central role in the partnership by supporting participating businesses with international cargo services. The carrier connects Dubai with markets across six continents. As a result, it gives local companies access to a broad freight network that can support exports and international distribution.
This could be particularly useful for SMEs that are growing quickly but do not yet have the scale to negotiate complex logistics arrangements independently. By using Emirates SkyCargo’s existing network, companies can potentially reach customers in multiple regions. At the same time, they can continue to operate from Dubai as their main base.
Emirates Courier Express Brings Door-to-Door Shipping
The partnership also includes Emirates Courier Express, which provides international door-to-door delivery services. The service is designed to simplify the movement of goods across borders. It combines transport, delivery and customs handling within a single logistics process.
For startups and smaller businesses, this kind of service can reduce the administrative burden attached to international shipping. For example, a company selling directly to customers overseas may need a faster and more predictable way to move products. This eliminates the need to create separate agreements with multiple logistics providers.
Business Travel Benefits Included in the Agreement
The agreement goes beyond freight and shipping. Dubai Chamber of Commerce members will also gain access to benefits linked to Emirates Business Rewards. This is the airline’s corporate loyalty programme for small and medium-sized organisations.
Businesses joining Emirates Business Rewards for the first time will receive a welcome bonus of 2,000 Business Rewards Points. Moreover, companies can earn additional points when employees or guest travellers fly with Emirates. Accumulated points can be used toward future flights and upgrades.
For companies expanding internationally, business travel remains part of the process. Meetings with distributors, investor discussions, exhibitions, supplier visits and overseas market development often require frequent travel. Therefore, the Business Rewards component is a practical addition to the broader partnership.
Startups Could Receive More Practical Logistics Guidance
Emirates SkyCargo and Dubai Chambers also plan to develop additional programmes aimed specifically at supporting startups. These initiatives are expected to include workshops, knowledge-sharing sessions and tailored cargo advisory services focused on improving supply-chain efficiency.
The value here may go beyond access to shipping capacity. Many young companies struggle with basic logistics planning once international orders begin increasing. Inventory management, customs documentation, packaging, delivery schedules and shipping costs can all become serious operational issues. This is especially true for businesses that have grown faster than their internal systems.
Partnership Supports Dubai Economic Agenda D33
The agreement also supports the wider ambitions of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. This agenda aims to strengthen the emirate’s position as an international business, trade and investment hub.
By helping SMEs reach customers outside the UAE, the partnership supports Dubai’s broader push to increase international trade and strengthen private-sector competitiveness. Smaller companies are an important part of that strategy. They contribute to employment, innovation and the development of new commercial sectors across the emirate.
Emirates and Dubai Chambers Focus on Private-Sector Growth
Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer at Emirates, said the collaboration is intended to help businesses overcome some of the practical barriers involved in reaching international markets.
Dubai Chambers also highlighted the importance of giving companies access to connectivity, logistics solutions and business support. Furthermore, the organisation continues to work on programmes designed to strengthen Dubai-based companies. It encourages them to expand into new international markets.
The partnership brings together two very different strengths. Emirates provides global transportation and logistics infrastructure, while Dubai Chambers provides a direct connection to the local business community. For SMEs trying to expand internationally, that combination could make overseas growth more manageable.
What the Agreement Means for Dubai’s Business Ecosystem
Dubai has built a strong reputation as a location for company formation, investment and regional headquarters. The next step for many businesses established in the emirate is turning Dubai into a launch point for international growth.
That is where partnerships such as this one become more relevant. Registering a company in Dubai is only the beginning. Businesses still need to reach customers, transport goods, attend international meetings and develop reliable supply chains.
For companies operating within Dubai’s wider business ecosystem, including those based in free zones, access to global transport and logistics infrastructure can help make that transition easier. Additionally, the agreement gives SMEs another route to connect local operations with customers and commercial opportunities around the world.
