Automotive assembly facility in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi’s efforts to establish itself as an international automotive manufacturing center have gained momentum after signing a recent strategic partnership deal during MIITE 2026. As a result, this agreement could pave the way for a new automotive assembly facility in Abu Dhabi.

Under the framework of ADIO’s Automotive Program, Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), ROX, and KEZAD Group have inked a collaboration pact to develop a semi-knocked-down (SKD) automotive assembly plant in Abu Dhabi. This plant will manufacture various types of vehicles for export markets.

Jarvis Yan, CEO of ROX; Mohamed Al Khader, Group CEO of KEZAD Group; and Abdullah Al Hameli, CEO of Economic Cities and Free Zones at AD Ports Group, signed the deal.

Representatives from both sides met with H.E. Badr Al Olama, Director General of ADIO, and Mohamed Ali Al Kamali, Chief Trade and Industry Officer at ADIO.

According to officials, the new automotive assembly plant in Abu Dhabi aims to localize certain manufacturing operations and expand the presence of ROX in the country. In addition, it will enhance production and export efficiency.

They also mentioned that the deal will help the UAE promote its long-term strategy to diversify its industries. In particular, this will occur through innovative technology-based products and services.

With the help of ADIO’s Automotive Program, Abu Dhabi continues to lure international automobile manufacturers to set up their plants in the country.

KEZAD Group’s logistics networks and industrial facilities are expected to support the new automotive plant’s operations and help export its products.
