AD Ports Group has announced the launch of a consolidated multimodal inland logistics network to strengthen industrial supply chains across the United Arab Emirates. The initiative is designed to improve cargo movement between ports, industrial zones and inland markets. It also aims to support the UAE’s growing manufacturing and export sectors.
Under the new logistics framework, Khalifa Port and Fujairah Terminals will connect with rail-linked inland dry ports, cargo depots, and industrial zones across the UAE. As a result, the project will create a more integrated transportation ecosystem and streamline the movement of raw materials, industrial feedstock, and finished goods.
AD Ports Group signs MoUs with leading UAE industrial companies
AD Ports Group has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with a number of leading UAE industrial companies including Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), EMSTEEL Group, Al Ghurair Iron & Steel and Tenaris as part of the initiative. These companies will serve as anchor cargo partners within the new inland logistics network.
The partnerships are intended to support faster and more reliable cargo transportation for industrial manufacturers operating throughout the country. The network will help to ease supply-chain bottlenecks and increase export flexibility for businesses that depend on efficient freight transportation.
Rail-linked infrastructure to boost UAE trade connectivity
Integrating the UAE’s growing rail network with port and logistics operations is one of the project’s primary components. AD Ports Group seeks to enhance the robustness of trade routes. In addition, they will minimize dependence on single-port activities by connecting maritime access points with inland industrial centers.
The network will also enhance connectivity between the UAE and neighbouring regional markets including Oman and Saudi Arabia through future rail-linked cargo corridors. Furthermore, the strategy is in line with the UAE’s long-term vision to become a leading global logistics and industrial hub, analysts say.
Khalifa Port As A Strategic Industrial Gateway
Khalifa Port remains a focal point in the UAE’s logistics transformation. Operated by AD Ports Group, the port is already a major regional gateway. It offers connections to over 70 international locations through a variety of shipping lines.
The expansion of the inland network is expected to further boost Khalifa Port’s strategic importance by enabling seamless cargo flows between industrial zones, inland depots and maritime routes. Fujairah Terminals will also benefit from improved cargo handling. Additionally, it will gain access to regional distribution corridors.
UAE Logistics Sector Remains Strong Growth Story
The multimodal inland logistics network forms part of the UAE’s wider strategy to modernise supply chains and diversify the economy. In addition, ongoing government-backed investments in ports, rail systems, free zones, and industrial infrastructure continue to attract global manufacturers and logistics operators to the region.
Integrated logistics solutions will grow in importance as global supply chains evolve. Businesses will seek faster, more resilient trade routes across the Middle East and beyond, industry experts say.
